Began trading as a second hand bookseller on Midsummer day 1775. Moved to Chiswell st six weeks later. Wife died of fever 9/1775. Married Dorcas Turton 30/1/1776.First catalogue 1779 in partnership with John Denis of Cannon st. Trading as Lackington, Allen & Co (1796-1812). SFIP 380485 (1777), 457060 (1782) & 493122 (1784). Succeeded by & related to George Lackington
